Job Title: Accountant

Job Location: New York, NY

Job Duties:

  • Perform various corporate accounting tasks and provide accounting

support to the property management team and the real estate

development team with the managed properties and the real estate

development projects. The detailed job duties and responsibilities:

  • Apply the principles of accounting to establish, modify and coordinate implementation

of accounting and accounting control procedures;

  • Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial

statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines;

  • Maintain and process financial records to include general ledger, accounts payable,

accounts receivable, invoicing;

  • Prepare Bank reconciliations for bank accounts including escrow accounts; Analyze

financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepare balance

sheet, profit and loss statement, and other financial reports for four accounting entities;

  • Assist Controller in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings and tax return and

external audits;

  • Responsible for all aspects of real estate development/construction payables, including

coding, processing contractor payment, proposals and maintaining the job cost chart of

accounts;

  • Prepare loan draws and manage the construction budget;

  • Monitor fixed asset activity in detail and generate month-end depreciation and

amortization entries;

  • Prepare and distribute monthly managed properties owner’s financial reports – prepare

monthly journal entries, financial statement preparation & reconciliation and bank

reconciliations;

  • Collaborate with property manager to prepare annual budget for rental properties;

  • Review rent roll, leases, and loan documents to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Provide accounting details and communicating with external auditors from tenants and

banks.

Requirements:

  • Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting related field.

  • Solid knowledge/skills in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), COSO

internal control framework; Financial Reporting and Analysis; Microsoft Word, Outlook,

Excel, Tax Law, QuickBooks are required.
